My sister, Joyce is one of the mega-stars of my life. She is a persistent "do gooder" and for the past 2-3 years, has been a key member of a special organization called Southern Comfort. My niece, Angela has also been a key player with Southern Comfort and my cousins have gone South to volunteer their time. Operation Southern Comfort's Mission is to restore hope to the people of the Gulf Coast by rebuilding homes one at a time. They hold fund raisers, and have a steady flow of volunteers, mostly from Central New York State, who volunteer their time in heading South to help re-build the many homes and lives affected by Hurricane Katrina.
